Wat Blink doet
Blink neemt seconden op met je camera en plakt ze tot een film. Alles gebeurt op je telefoon, op de iPhone en op Android. Je hoeft geen account te maken om Blink te gebruiken.
Blink is gratis. Premium en de eenmalige aankoop voor het watermerk lopen via de App Store en Google Play; wij zien geen betaalgegevens.
Welke gegevens Blink verwerkt
- Je seconden (video en foto's). Ze staan op je toestel en, als je dat wilt, in je eigen Foto's of galerij. Alleen als je inlogt worden ze versleuteld naar onze cloudopslag (Supabase, servers in Frankfurt, EU) gestuurd voor backup. Niemand anders kan ze zien: de toegang is per gebruiker afgeschermd.
- Locatie. Alleen als je zelf een stempel met plaats aanzet. De plaats wordt op je toestel bepaald en als plaatsnaam en coördinaten bij die seconde bewaard, zodat de stempel klopt. Blink volgt je niet.
- Inloggen. Inloggen is nooit verplicht. Op de iPhone gaat het met Inloggen met Apple, op Android met Inloggen met Google. We bewaren het gebruikers-ID dat de aanbieder ons geeft en het e-mailadres dat daarbij hoort, zodat je back-up aan je account hangt en je hem terugkrijgt op een nieuwe telefoon. Kies je bij Apple voor "Verberg mijn e-mailadres", dan bewaren we alleen dat doorgeefadres van Apple en niet je echte adres. We bewaren nooit je wachtwoord, en we mailen je niets anders dan de inloglink die je zelf hebt gevraagd.
- Diagnose. Blink houdt op je toestel een klein logboek bij van technische fouten. Dat verlaat je toestel alleen als je het zelf deelt via Instellingen.
- Serverlogboeken. Onze cloudopslag legt bij elk verzoek technische gegevens vast, waaronder je IP-adres. Die logboeken verdwijnen vanzelf binnen dertig dagen en bevatten geen seconden.
- Gebruiksgegevens. Blink meet anoniem hoe de app gebruikt wordt: hoe vaak je hem opent, hoe lang een gemaakte video is, welke kwaliteit je koos, of je de paywall zag en of je iets kocht. Dat gaat via Google Analytics voor Firebase, met een apparaat-id dat Google zelf maakt; er gaat geen naam, geen e-mailadres, geen beeld en geen film- of seconde-id mee, en er is geen advertentie-id. Je zet het uit in Instellingen > Privacy.
Samen filmen
Doe je mee aan een gedeelde film, dan zien de andere leden van die film je naam, je profielfoto en de seconden die je erin zet. Dat is nodig om samen te kunnen filmen.
- De uitnodigingslink. De link of code voor een gedeelde film bevat alleen de filmcode, verder niets waarmee je te herleiden bent.
- Meldingen (push). Om je een melding te kunnen sturen, bijvoorbeeld bij een uitnodiging of nieuwe seconden, bewaren we een pushtoken van je toestel. Dat token verdwijnt zodra je toestel zich afmeldt of je je account verwijdert.
- Iemand melden. Meld je een seconde of een lid, dan gaat dat per e-mail naar Blink, met het nummer van de film en de seconde erbij, zodat we kunnen nakijken waar het over gaat.
Een bekende grens. Seconden die je deelt in een gedeelde film blijven, net als in een groepsapp, staan op de toestellen van leden die ze al hadden voordat je ze verwijdert of je account weghaalt. Verwijder je je account, dan wist onze server jouw seconden; wat al op andermans toestel stond, blijft daar staan.
Wat Blink niet doet
Geen tracking, geen advertentieprofielen, geen verkoop van gegevens, geen analyse van je beelden. Blink bevat geen advertenties; trackers van derden zitten er niet in, wel anonieme gebruiksgegevens die je uit kunt zetten.
Bewaren en verwijderen
Je verwijdert seconden en films in de app. Verwijderde seconden blijven 30 dagen in een prullenbak op je toestel en worden dan definitief gewist, ook in de cloud. Met "Account en backup verwijderen" in Instellingen wis je in één keer je account en alle cloudkopieën; de films op je telefoon blijven staan.
Je rechten
Je kunt je gegevens altijd inzien (ze staan in de app en in Foto's of je galerij), meenemen (Maak video) en verwijderen. Vragen of verzoeken: dsvanhoven@gmail.com. Je hebt het recht een klacht in te dienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Wijzigingen
Bij een inhoudelijke wijziging vermelden we de nieuwe datum bovenaan en melden we het in de app.

What Blink does
Blink records seconds with your camera and stitches them into a film. Everything happens on your phone, on iPhone and on Android. You do not need an account to use Blink.
Blink is free. Premium and the one-time watermark purchase go through the App Store and Google Play; we never see payment details.
Data Blink processes
- Your seconds (video and photos). They live on your device and, if you choose, in your own Photos or gallery. Only when you sign in are they sent, encrypted in transit, to our cloud storage (Supabase, servers in Frankfurt, EU) for backup. Nobody else can see them: access is isolated per user.
- Location. Only if you enable a place stamp yourself. The place is resolved on your device and stored as a place name and coordinates with that second so the stamp is correct. Blink does not track you.
- Signing in. Signing in is never required. On iPhone it goes through Sign in with Apple, on Android through Sign in with Google. We store the user ID the provider gives us and the email address that comes with it, so your backup belongs to your account and returns on a new phone. If you choose "Hide My Email" at Apple, we only ever store that relay address from Apple, not your real one. We never store your password, and we email you nothing except the sign-in link you asked for yourself.
- Server logs. Our cloud storage records technical data on every request, including your IP address. Those logs expire on their own within thirty days and hold no seconds.
- Diagnostics. Blink keeps a small log of technical errors on your device. It only leaves your device if you share it yourself from Settings.
- Usage data. Blink measures anonymously how the app is used: how often you open it, how long a finished video is, which quality you picked, whether you saw the paywall and whether you bought anything. This goes through Google Analytics for Firebase, with a device id Google generates itself; no name, no email address, no footage and no film or second id is included, and there is no advertising id. You can switch it off in Settings > Privacy.
Filming together
When you join a shared film, the other members of that film can see your name, your profile photo and the seconds you add to it. That is what makes filming together work.
- The invite link. A shared film's link or code carries nothing but that film's code, nothing else that identifies you.
- Notifications. To send you a notification, for an invite or new seconds, we keep a push token for your device. It is removed as soon as your device unregisters or you delete your account.
- Reporting someone. Reporting a second or a member emails Blink with the film and second identified, so we can look into it.
A known limit. Seconds you shared in a shared film stay, like in a group chat, on the phones of members who already had them, whether or not you later remove them or delete your account. Deleting your account makes our server erase your seconds; copies already on someone else's phone stay there.
What Blink does not do
No tracking, no ad profiles, no selling of data, no analysis of your footage. Blink contains no ads; there are no third-party trackers, though it does collect anonymous usage data that you can switch off.
Retention and deletion
You delete seconds and films in the app. Deleted seconds stay in a trash on your device for 30 days and are then permanently erased, also in the cloud. "Delete account and backup" in Settings removes your account and all cloud copies at once; the films on your phone stay.
Your rights
You can always access your data (in the app and in Photos or your gallery), take it with you (Make video) and delete it. Questions or requests: dsvanhoven@gmail.com. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
